My artwork isn't totally original because I'm making a combination between a couple different ideas. I'm collaging drawings together of things that are important to me. It is original because it's about ME. People might not see it, but everything in my artwork is what makes me as a person. This is similar to the Contemporary Native American artworks because they make art about the stories that they and their people have lived. Artist Statement My artwork is (drawing/painting) of things that are important to me. Some of the things are music, art, stars but so much more. To make my artwork, I started with a rough draft on paper to figure out how to arrange everything so it all goes together. My big idea was to show who I am as a person. A lot of people think they know me, but I don't think the really do. My goal as an artist is to make some decent art. Overall, I think my artwork...

The primary colors are red, yellow, and blue. The secondary colors are green, purple, and orange. Yellow is the color that’s usually at the top of the color wheel because it is seen as the brightest and as standing out the most.
I had a hard time finding green because I don’t have a lot of that. My favorite item is the book my sister made when I was little. The item that stood out in Mrs. Underhill’s color wheel was the little yellow smiley face. It was the first thing I saw. Standards Evidence
When I first started, I didn’t really have any other ideas, I told Mrs. Underhill that I had been taking photographs each day since we started distance learning. Then, we talked about adding on to that - doing a journal along with the picture. I got feedback from my family and emailing school friends on the photos and Mrs. Underhill about the journal. Artist Statement My artwork is a collection of pictures of things that I found in nature - things that I was curious about or things that caught my eye. Along with the photos, there is a description of what was happening during the time when the photo was taken. To make my art, I walked around my yard and took pictures. For the journal, I kept track in a notebook and it will get added into my blog. The big idea is to show something that I love to do - taking photos - plus I’m keeping track of what is happening as a way to share with other people. I like photography so this is another way that I can use the pictures that I’ve already taken. Lately, due to the quarantine, to be active and to get outside, I've been taking photos as a "journal" of sorts. My plan is to continue this, with some background information on where I was, what happened, and any other little things that happened. As an artist, I am still a beginner, as there are always more things to learn, so one of my goals I have set for myself is to learn a new technique/skill. I want to learn as much as I can in school, especially in art. I hope this will be a great year!
