I've been working on my Figure artwork. I originally envisioned my artwork to be an owl but as I worked, something got bumped and moved so I changed the design. I'm also envisioning what glazes will look best on my finished sculpture. Working with the clay, I made some observations about the clay. It's pretty easy to work with. It's cold - I almost want gloves working with it! I also observed that the clay looks lighter as it dries - the moisture is removed.

My artwork looks like a video game. I used a thingy (some kind of not-being-used-piece-of-garbage technology) and took it apart. The main body part is white plastic and it's about 4 x 6 inches and about an inch thick. I took out the motherboard, broke off a bunch of pieces and turned that into the "screen." Then I glued the "screen" onto the white base and painted on both parts. It says "The Game of Life" on the main body part.
As I was taking it apart, it started looking like a video game so I went with that. I like video games but it's not like I play them all the time. When I finished this, I was proud that it actually looked like something. In the past, I've felt like I'm not that good at making stuff but I'm improving as I experiment with art. I'm happy about the way it turned out. |
